Pray My Street

Praying for the world, one street at a time

Pray My Street

Choose a street. Pray for it. Watch it turn green for everyone.

It began with an A to Z and a highlighter, one street coloured in at a time. Pray My Street is that page, shared by everyone and drawn on a map of the whole world. Free to use. It never asks where you are.

01 The idea

Three colours, one map, everybody's streets

Every street on earth is on the map. Every one of them starts grey. What happens next is up to the people who open it.

Not yet prayed for

Every street begins grey. Somewhere in the world, most still are. That is the point of the map, not a failing of it.

Prayed for

Someone has sat, or stood, and prayed for the people on it. It turns green on every screen at once, wherever in the world that screen is.

Prayed for many times

When many people have prayed for a street, it turns gold. Nobody is counted out loud and nobody is named. The colour is enough.

02 What happens when you pray

Find a street, hold a moment, and it turns green

Four screens, and the whole of it. Everything else in the app exists to serve these.

01

Any street in the world

Search by name or tap the map, on a phone or on a computer. The same name in two towns is two different streets, each with its own colour.

One clear action

The street, whether anyone has prayed for it yet, and the nearest church. Then one button, and nothing else asked of you.

Held, not ticked off

A still screen and a verse, for as long as you need. Nothing is timed and nothing is counted against you.

04

Green for everyone

The colour changes on every screen, everywhere, the moment you finish. Your own record and your town's coverage move with it.

03 Why

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.James 5 : 16, NIV

The whole of Pray My Street rests on one belief: that prayer changes things, and that a great many people praying for a great many streets changes more. The map is only there so you can see it happening.

04 Together

Praying for each other

The map is one half of it. The other half is people.

Ask someone to pray for your street

Send your street to a friend, a neighbour or a house group. They open the link and can pray for it, with nothing to install and no account. No names and no messages to write.

A church praying together

A church, a house group or a whole network shares one total and a map of its own. Everyone still prays as themselves, and nobody is ever named on the map.

05 The promise

What it will never do

Never

  • Ask where you are, at any time, for any reason. There is no location permission to grant.
  • Show your name on the map, or beside a street, or to anyone at all.
  • Sell, share or advertise against anything you do here.
  • Put the act of praying behind a payment.
  • Nag you, badge you or guilt you back.

Always

  • Free to pray, for everyone, for ever.
  • Any street in the world, on a phone or a computer, nothing to install.
  • Your own record, kept private to you.
  • One quiet thing to do, done well.

06 Where it stands

Drawn first, then built

The concept has been designed screen by screen on real streets, and you can tap through it today. The app itself is being built now, and a small group of people will try it before anyone else.

Put your name down and you will get one email when it is ready to test. If you belong to a church that might want to be among the first, say so on the form.

  3. ThenChurch and group accounts, walks people make themselves, more of the words.
